Privacy policy

Draft for review by a lawyer before launch. Last updated 3 October 2026.

Sign Officially is run by WorkOfficially Inc. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your information.

Files you open in our PDF tools

On-device tools process your files inside your browser. We do not receive, see or store those files.

Documents you send for signature

Your browser encrypts the document before upload. In Standard mode we hold the key, protected by our server key, so signers can open it after confirming their email. In Private mode only people with the password can open it, and we cannot.

Information we keep

  • Account details: your name, email, and a hashed password, or your WorkOfficially ID.
  • For each envelope: title, file name, names and emails of the people involved, field positions, status, times, IP addresses and browser type for each step, and document fingerprints.
  • Security logs to stop abuse, kept for up to 90 days.

Why we use it

To run the service, send the emails you ask for, prove what happened in the signing process, keep accounts safe, and meet legal duties.

Who we share it with

Our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) and our own email service (Mail Officially). We share information with authorities only when the law requires it, and we can only share what we can read.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Until you delete the envelope or your account. The public seal record for a completed document (fingerprints, masked emails, names and times) is kept so the document stays verifiable.

Your rights

You can download, correct or delete your information. Delete your account in Account settings, or email privacy@signofficially.com.
